Digimon

When I was a little kid I adored Digimon. Every morning I would wake up for school, go into the living room of my apartment, grab a bowl of cereal and tune into Jetix to watch Digimon Adventure. While I definitely still grew up with a healthy adoration for Pokemon, the tv shows for it could never grab my attention the way that Digimon could. I loved that the kids in Digimon were able to talk to their Digimon partners, and that for the most part they only ever got one partner, instead of having an entire team in Pokemon. It made it so the relationships were far deeper in my opinion, and it allowed for the writers to explore the personalities of the kids in Digimon way more. That said, since the bond between Digimon and Tamer was my favorite aspect of the Digimon animes, the Digimon video games I played never really were able to capture that same element for me to be excited about, as they focused more on letting you collect more Digimon than just your starting partner and build a team out of them for fighting.
